Marin Alpine Trail 2 2026
The Marin Alpine Trail is a long-travel enduro weapon engineered specifically for riders who crave gravity-focused trails, high-speed descents, and technical bike park terrain. Drawing on four decades of Marin's California mountain biking heritage, this bike is built to handle the absolute roughest lines with unwavering confidence. Whether you are booking a trip to the Alps, conquering steep local tracks like Dyfi and Revs, or lining up at a local enduro race, the Alpine Trail is designed to push your riding boundaries. The new Marin Alpine Trail Series 4 aluminum MultiTrac 2 LT frames feature mixed 29”/27.5” wheels, 170mm front and 160mm rear travel, and the utmost in adjustability. Riders can alter the head tube angle and bottom bracket/chain stay length, as well as run 29” rear wheels if desired. “Bear Box” downtube storage includes a zippered nylon bag to house trail essentials, and a 34.9mm seatpost increases strength and is compatible with the latest dropper posts.

While the Alpine Trail 1 is the starting point in the three-model lineup, we didn’t make any concessions regarding the spec. High-performance Fox suspension keeps you in control at all times, while a Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain transmits your power to the wheel. TRP’s Slate Evo 4-piston brakes feature 203mm rotors, keeping speed in check in a powerful, fade-free manner.

What truly sets this gravity machine apart is its incredible versatility and downhill-focused geometry. Thanks to adjustable headset cups and dual flip chips located on both the seat and chain stays, you can customize the bike to match your riding style. In its longest and lowest setting, the head tube angle slackens to a massive 62 degrees, putting the bike firmly into downhill-stability territory. Additionally, the frame is fully compatible with mixed-wheel "mullet" setups, allowing you to run a 27.5-inch rear wheel for maximum agility in tight corners without sacrificing any of the front-end rolling speed.

Despite its aggressive, gravity-first geometry, this bike does not require a chairlift to get back to the top. The suspension platform is engineered to be exceptionally efficient, allowing you to pedal comfortably all day long. This blend of downhill capability and climbing efficiency means you can conquer a massive day of trail riding just as easily as you can lap the bike park. It is a highly capable all-rounder for riders who refuse to compromise on descending performance.

Marin has also packed the Alpine Trail with clever, rider-focused details that make owning and maintaining it a breeze. An integrated down tube storage compartment allows you to carry tools, tubes, and snacks inside the frame, saving you from riding with a heavy backpack. To keep the ride silent and protect your investment, the bike features a comprehensive, wrap-around chain stay protector and a custom mud flap to block debris from the suspension linkage. Completed with easy-to-service internal cable routing and a heavy-duty, double-down casing Maxxis Minion DHR II tire on the rear, this bike is fully spec'd and ready to rip right out of the box.
