The Santa Cruz Bronson 2027 is a versatile, long-travel trail mountain bike that combines playful handling with serious descending capability. Its 160mm fork, 150mm of VPP rear travel and mixed-wheel setup give it the stability for steep, rough trails while keeping it agile enough for jumps, technical singletrack and everyday trail riding.

It sits between the Hightower and Nomad in the Santa Cruz range. The Bronson is more playful and gravity-focused than the Hightower, but easier to pedal and more versatile than the 170mm-travel Nomad.

• 160mm front and 150mm rear travel: The Bronson has enough suspension for rough enduro-style terrain while remaining efficient and responsive on regular trail rides.
• Lower-link VPP suspension: The lower link is positioned low and forward to create a plush, open suspension feel with strong traction and reduced pedal kickback over square-edge impacts.
• MX wheels: A 29-inch front wheel improves rollover and stability, while the 27.5-inch rear wheel helps the bike change direction quickly and gives the rider more clearance on steep descents.
• Carbon C and Carbon CC frames: Carbon C offers the same core frame design at a more accessible price, while Carbon CC uses a lighter premium carbon lay-up.
• Proportional geometry: Reach, seat angle and chainstay length change across the size range to provide a more consistent fit and handling balance.
• Adjustable geometry: A High/Low flip chip changes the head angle between approximately 64.2 and 63.9 degrees and adjusts the bottom bracket height.
• Glovebox storage: Integrated down-tube storage provides space for tools and trail essentials, with a Tool Wallet and Tube Purse supplied.
• Lifetime support: Carbon C and Carbon CC frames are backed by Santa Cruz's lifetime frame warranty and lifetime pivot bearing replacement for the original owner, subject to the manufacturer's terms.

The current UK Bronson range includes Carbon C and lighter Carbon CC complete bikes, together with a Carbon CC frameset. Every model uses the same 160/150mm VPP platform and MX wheel format.

• Bronson X0 AXS RSV: The flagship build, adding Reserve carbon wheels to the Carbon CC frame, electronic X0 AXS drivetrain and FOX Factory suspension.
• Bronson Carbon CC Frameset: The premium frame and rear shock for riders who want to create a custom Bronson build.

Carbon C and Carbon CC Bronson frames share the same geometry, 150mm VPP suspension layout, MX wheel setup and intended use. The main difference is the carbon lay-up.

Carbon C uses more material to achieve the required strength and stiffness, making it slightly heavier but more affordable. Carbon CC uses Santa Cruz's highest-grade carbon construction to achieve the same strength with less material, reducing frame weight. Both are built for demanding mountain biking and carry the same lifetime frame warranty for the original owner, subject to Santa Cruz's terms.

The Bronson is designed for trail and all-mountain riding with a strong focus on descending, jumps and technical terrain. It is equally suited to natural singletrack, trail centres, bike-park laps and longer mountain rides where the bike still needs to climb under its own power.

Riders who mainly prioritise long-distance efficiency and 29-inch rollover may prefer the Hightower. Riders who want maximum stability and 170mm travel for the steepest enduro and bike-park terrain may prefer the Nomad.

Choose the Bronson R or 70 if you want the core Bronson platform at the most accessible price. The Bronson S or 90 adds more adjustment and upgraded components while retaining mechanical shifting. The Bronson X0 AXS suits riders who want the lighter Carbon CC frame, electronic shifting and FOX Factory suspension. The X0 AXS RSV is the flagship option with Reserve carbon wheels.
