The Santa Cruz Vala 2027 is a full-power electric mountain bike designed to combine powerful climbing support with balanced, responsive handling. Its 160mm fork, 150mm rear travel and mixed-wheel setup give it the capability for technical terrain without making it feel like an oversized, downhill-focused eMTB.

The Vala uses a four-bar suspension platform developed around the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor. This gives Santa Cruz greater control over the suspension kinematics while retaining the composed, predictable ride feel for which the brand is known.

The 2027 Santa Cruz Vala range expands beyond the previous model-year builds with a wider selection of aluminium, Carbon C and premium Carbon CC bikes. Every model retains the same core Vala platform: 160mm front travel, 150mm rear travel, MX wheels, four-bar suspension, a Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor and a 600Wh Bosch PowerTube battery.

• Vala AL Deore 6200: The most accessible 2027 Vala, built around an aluminium frame with Shimano Deore 12-speed gearing and RockShox suspension.
• Vala C Deore 7200: The entry point into the lighter Carbon C frame range, using a Shimano Deore drivetrain.
• Vala C XT Lite: A lighter Carbon C build with a Shimano XT-focused component package.
• Vala C 90: A mechanical SRAM Transmission build on the Carbon C frame.
• Vala C GX AXS: A Carbon C model with SRAM GX Eagle AXS electronic Transmission.
• Vala CC XT Di2 Lite RSV: A lightweight premium build combining the Carbon CC frame, hardwired Shimano XT Di2 shifting and Reserve carbon wheels.
• Vala CC XT Di2 RSV: The flagship 2027 Vala, pairing the Carbon CC frame and hardwired XT Di2 drivetrain with a more aggressive premium suspension and component package.

• Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 motor: With the latest Bosch software update, the drive system can deliver up to 120Nm of torque, 750W peak power and up to 600% assistance. Motor support can be customised through the Bosch eBike Flow app.
• 600Wh Bosch PowerTube battery: The integrated battery helps keep the frame slim and the weight positioned low and centrally. The optional Bosch PowerMore 250Wh range extender increases total capacity to 850Wh.
• 160mm front and 150mm rear travel: The Vala has enough travel for steep and rough terrain while remaining versatile for technical trail and all-mountain riding.
• Four-bar suspension: The suspension layout is tuned to remain active while pedalling and braking, helping maintain traction and control on rough climbs and descents.
• Mixed wheels: A 29-inch front wheel improves rollover and stability, while the 27.5-inch rear wheel helps the bike remain agile through tighter turns.

All three Vala frame options use the same core 160/150mm four-bar platform, Bosch motor system and MX wheel format. The main differences are frame material, weight, component level and price.

• Vala Aluminium: The most affordable entry into the range. It prioritises durability and value while retaining the full-power Bosch system and Vala suspension platform.
• Vala Carbon C: Uses Santa Cruz's carbon construction to reduce weight and is available with a wider selection of mechanical and electronic drivetrains.
• Vala Carbon CC: Uses Santa Cruz's highest-grade carbon lay-up for the lightest frame option and is reserved for the flagship hardwired Shimano XT Di2 and Reserve-wheel builds.

The Santa Cruz Vala 2027 uses an integrated 600Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. It is compatible with the optional 250Wh Bosch PowerMore range extender, increasing total capacity to 850Wh for longer rides.

Actual range varies with rider weight, assistance mode, elevation, terrain, weather, tyre choice and riding style. The Bosch eBike Flow app can be used to monitor battery information, install wireless updates and customise motor support.
