Transition Ripcord 24" 2027
The new 2027 Transition Ripcord is a purpose-built youth mountain bike designed to give younger riders the capability and confidence to take their riding further. Built around a lightweight and durable Ripcord Alloy frame with 130mm of rear travel and 24” wheels, it delivers a properly proportioned platform for riders who want more than a basic kids’ bike. The X-Fusion O2 Pro R rear shock works alongside the X-Fusion Romain 24 fork, providing 130mm of suspension at both ends to help absorb bumps, roots and rough sections of trail while keeping the bike controlled and planted.
The Ripcord is equipped with components chosen specifically around the needs of smaller riders. An SDG Slater JR cockpit combines with the SDG Slater JR grips and Fly JR saddle to provide a youth-focused contact point, while the X-Fusion Manic LC TA dropper post offers 80mm of travel and can be adjusted up to 100mm. This gives riders the ability to lower the saddle when descending or tackling steeper and more technical terrain, allowing them to move around the bike more easily and maintain a confident riding position as their skills develop.
To round things off, the Ripcord gets a Shimano CUES 10-speed drivetrain with a wide-range 11–43T cassette, giving riders plenty of gearing for climbing and rolling terrain. Shimano MT410 short-reach brakes paired with 180/160mm rotors provide controlled stopping, while the WTB ST i30 rims and Maxxis Minion DHR II 2.3” tyres front and rear give the bike a capable trail setup with plenty of grip. Finished with sealed-bearing hubs and SDG Slater Jr pedals included, the 2027 Ripcord is built as a genuine trail bike for younger riders who are ready to progress beyond the basics and start taking on more demanding terrain.
