Whyte Secta RSX 2026
The Whyte Secta RSX 2026 is the flagship model in Whyte’s modern trail hardtail range. Built around a lightweight, weatherproof 6061 T6 aluminium frame, it combines progressive geometry with a premium component package designed for fast singletrack, technical climbs and demanding descents.
A 130mm RockShox Pike Select fork provides the support and control needed for rougher trails, while fast-rolling 29in wheels and Schwalbe’s latest radial tyres deliver confident grip across loose, rocky and mixed conditions. Shimano XT 1x12-speed gearing, powerful four-piston brakes and a size-specific TransX dropper complete a hardtail built for aggressive year-round riding.
Fast, capable and ready for anything
The Secta RSX blends Whyte’s progressive 29er geometry with the carefully balanced ride height of a 130mm short-offset fork. A slack 63.5-degree head angle improves stability on steep and technical descents, while size-specific seat angles help place the rider in an efficient position for climbing.
The result is a composed and confidence-inspiring hardtail that remains responsive when the trail tightens. Whether you are tackling a long natural loop, riding technical trail-centre features or pushing harder through fast singletrack, the Secta RSX delivers direct handling without feeling nervous or unpredictable.
RockShox Pike Select suspension
A 130mm RockShox Pike Select fork gives the Secta RSX the control needed to take full advantage of its aggressive geometry. Its DebonAir spring provides a sensitive and supportive feel, while adjustable compression and rebound allow the fork to be tuned around rider weight, terrain and riding style.
The stiff 35mm chassis helps maintain steering accuracy through rough sections and hard compressions, giving the front of the bike a precise and controlled feel when speeds begin to increase.
Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain
Shimano XT 1x12-speed gearing provides fast, accurate shifting across a wide 10-51T cassette. Paired with a 30T chainring, the drivetrain offers the low gearing required for steep and technical climbs without sacrificing useful range on faster trails and linking sections.
Shimano MT620 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes and 180mm rotors provide powerful, consistent braking at both wheels. This gives the Secta RSX dependable control on steep descents and in the wet conditions for which Whyte bikes are developed.
Schwalbe radial tyres and tubeless-ready wheels
WTB KOM Team rims feature a wide 30mm internal profile and are supplied tubeless compatible. They are paired with a 29 x 2.5in Schwalbe Albert Trail Radial tyre at the front and a Schwalbe Romy Trail Radial at the rear.
This combination balances front-end grip and braking confidence with efficient rear-wheel rolling performance. The radial construction allows the tyre casing to conform more effectively to the trail surface, helping maintain traction across roots, rocks and loose ground.
A frame built for UK conditions
The Secta RSX uses a precision-formed 6061 T6 aluminium frame with sealed internal cable runs and weather-protected cable ports. External routing around the head tube keeps servicing straightforward, while a sealed seatpost collar helps protect the frame against water and trail debris.
A compact seat tube and generous standover clearance create plenty of room to move around the bike. The TransX +RAD dropper provides 150mm of travel on the Small, 170mm on the Medium and 200mm on Large and Extra Large frames, with 30mm of adjustment available to fine-tune the extended height.
Additional frame details include SRAM UDH compatibility, a threaded bottom bracket, Boost rear spacing and mounts beneath the top tube for carrying a tool or spare tube. Clearance for rear tyres up to 29 x 2.6in also leaves useful room for mud when riding throughout the British winter.
