CUBE has built a strong reputation for producing practical, capable bikes that cover everything from everyday riding to more demanding off-road adventures. The Reaction Hybrid has become one of CUBE’s key hardtail e-bike platforms, combining a 120mm-travel suspension fork with Bosch drive systems and a range of different component packages.
For 2027, the Reaction Hybrid range offers several models at different price points, allowing riders to choose how much performance, battery capacity and component specification they need. Across the range, the bikes share the same basic idea: a versatile hardtail e-MTB designed for everything from trail riding and off-road exploring to longer-distance rides. The main differences between the models come from the motor and battery setup, suspension fork, drivetrain, brakes and controls.

Reaction Hybrid Performance 720
The Reaction Hybrid Performance 720 sits towards the more accessible end of the range, while still offering a substantial 720Wh battery. It uses a Bosch Performance Line motor with 75Nm of torque and the Bosch Smart System, paired with a Bosch Purion 200 controller. Up front is an SR Suntour X34 NLO Coil fork providing 120mm of travel. The drivetrain is Shimano Deore with an RD-M6200-SGS rear derailleur, while braking is handled by Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic disc brakes.
With an RRP of £2,999, the Performance 720 provides a combination of Bosch assistance, a large-capacity battery and straightforward Shimano components, making it suited to riders looking for a capable all-round e-bike without moving into the higher-spec models.
Reaction Hybrid ONE 720
The ONE 720 uses a different Bosch drive system, with the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 Smart System providing the assistance. It is paired with a 720Wh Bosch PowerTube battery and Bosch Purion 200 controller. The suspension package consists of an SR Suntour XCM 32 LO-R Air fork with 120mm of travel, while Shimano Deore RD-M6200-SGS provides the drivetrain and Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic brakes handle braking duties.
At £2,599 RRP, the ONE 720 sits at a lower price point than the Performance 720 while using the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 system. It offers a straightforward specification for riders looking for a versatile hardtail e-MTB with a 720Wh battery and 120mm of front suspension.
Reaction Hybrid Pro 800
Moving up to the Pro 800 brings an increase in battery capacity to 800Wh, alongside the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 Smart System. The bike is equipped with a RockShox Recon Silver RL Air fork, still providing 120mm of front travel, giving riders an air-sprung fork rather than the coil or air forks found on the models below it. The drivetrain is upgraded to Shimano XT RD-M8200-SGS, while braking is handled by Shimano BR-MT420 brakes.
Bosch's Purion 200 controller completes the e-bike system. With an RRP of £2,899, the Pro 800 sits between the ONE 720 and the more highly equipped Race 800, combining the larger 800Wh battery with upgrades to the drivetrain, brakes and suspension.
Reaction Hybrid Race 800
The Race 800 continues with the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 Smart System and 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, but moves further up the component range. At the front is a Fox 34 Float AWL fork with 120mm of travel. Shimano XT RD-M8200-SGS provides the drivetrain, while Shimano XT BR-M8120 brakes provide the braking system. The Bosch Purion 200 controller is used here as well.
With an RRP of £3,499, the Race 800 offers a higher level of suspension, drivetrain and braking equipment than the Pro 800, while retaining the same 800Wh battery capacity and Bosch CX Gen 5 drive system.
Reaction Hybrid SLX 800
The SLX 800 takes another step up in specification while retaining the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 Smart System and 800Wh PowerTube battery. It uses a Fox 34 Float AWL fork with 120mm of travel, Shimano XT Di2 RD-M8260-SGS electronic shifting and Shimano XT BR-M8120 brakes. Instead of the Purion 200 controller used on the lower models, the SLX 800 uses the Bosch Smart System Remote.
With an RRP of £3,899, the main differences are focused on the drivetrain and control system, with the electronic Shimano XT Di2 drivetrain providing a different level of shifting technology compared with the mechanical drivetrains lower in the range.
Reaction Hybrid SLT 800
At the top of this particular comparison is the SLT 800. It uses the Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 Smart System with an 800Wh Bosch PowerTube battery and Bosch Smart System Remote. Suspension comes from a Fox 36 Float AWL fork with 120mm of travel, giving it a larger fork chassis than the Fox 34 used on the Race and SLX models.
The Shimano XT Di2 RD-M8260-SGS drivetrain and Shimano XT BR-M8120 brakes are carried over from the SLX 800. At £4,499 RRP, the SLT 800 represents the highest component specification in this comparison, particularly in terms of its Fox 36 fork and electronic XT Di2 drivetrain.
