Mondraker Zendit R & S: First Impressions
Mondraker has added two new models to the Zendit range: the Zendit R and Zendit S.
They sit alongside the existing RR, RR S and XR models, bringing the Zendit platform to more riders and new price points. Both use the same carbon front triangle and Avinox M2S drive system, paired with a new alloy rear end.
We’ve had a first look at the details. Here’s what stands out.
The Zendit range expands
The Zendit R and S keep the main features of the existing platform: Mondraker’s Forward Geometry, Zero Suspension and an enduro-focused setup with 170mm of fork travel and 165mm at the rear.
The key change is the frame construction. Both new bikes combine a Stealth Air Carbon front triangle with a Stealth Alloy rear triangle. That gives riders a new way into the Zendit range while keeping the same core frame layout and suspension platform.
Both models also come with the Avinox M2S motor and an 800Wh battery. On paper, that makes them serious options for riders looking for a full-power e-MTB built for steep climbs and demanding descents.
The motor and battery
The M2S is the flagship Avinox drive system, with up to 150Nm of torque and 1,300W peak power in Boost mode.
The Zendit R and S pair it with an 800Wh battery and Avinox DP100 display. Mondraker lists a 4A charger with both models.
That combination puts plenty of emphasis on climbing support and ride time. We’ll be interested to see how the motor’s delivery feels on the trail, particularly on technical climbs where control and response matter as much as outright power.
A dedicated mixed-wheel setup
Both bikes use a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel. Mondraker says the Zendit was conceived around this mullet setup, aiming to balance stability and confidence with a more manoeuvrable rear end.
There’s also a flip chip at the lower shock mount, allowing riders to switch between the standard and low geometry settings. In the standard setting, the head angle is 63.5° and the bottom bracket height is 345mm. The low setting takes those figures to 63.15° and 340mm.
Chainstay length is size-specific: 450mm on S, M and M/L, and 455mm on L and XL in the standard setting. That proportional sizing should help keep the bike’s balance consistent across the size range.

Zendit R vs Zendit S
The main difference between the two models is the suspension, wheels and drivetrain specification.
Zendit R
The R comes with a Fox 38 Float GRIP Performance fork and Fox Float-X LV Performance rear shock. It also gets DT Swiss Hybrid H 1900 SPLINE wheels, SRAM Maven Base brakes and a SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS T-Type drivetrain.
The R is listed at 23.95kg. Its colours are Greyhound Grey and Ionite Blue.
Zendit S
The S uses a RockShox ZEB Base fork and Super Deluxe Select rear shock. The build includes Mavic E-Access XR30 wheels, SRAM Maven Base brakes and a SRAM 70 Eagle T-Type drivetrain.
Mondraker lists the S in Obsidian Grey and Optic White. A weight was not included in the launch information.
First impressions
The interesting part of the Zendit R and S is how much of the existing Zendit character they appear to retain. The carbon front triangle, Zero Suspension platform, Forward Geometry and Avinox M2S system remain, while the alloy rear end creates a new entry point into the range.
The build choices also make the two models easy to distinguish. The R steps up to Fox suspension, DT Swiss wheels and wireless SRAM shifting. The S uses RockShox suspension and Mavic wheels, while keeping the same motor, battery, travel and braking system.
These are first impressions based on the launch information rather than a ride review. We’ll share more once we’ve had the chance to ride the bikes and see how the new rear end performs on the trail.
Final word
The Zendit R and S bring Mondraker’s high-power enduro e-MTB platform to a wider part of the range.
Both combine the Avinox M2S system and 800Wh battery with a mixed carbon and alloy frame, 165mm rear travel and a 170mm fork. The choice between them comes down mainly to the suspension, wheels and drivetrain fitted.
We’re looking forward to getting out on them.
