If you're new to the world of Electric mountain bikes (EMTB) or struggling to decide which e-bike is right for you, a test ride is the perfect way to try before you buy!
MTB Monster now offers an extensive in-house demo fleet showcasing the best EMTB's available, including top-of-the-line full suspension electric mountain bikes and electric hardtails, all ready for you to test and try out at any time throughout the year.
We have carefully selected our EMTB demo bike range to give our customers the chance to test the latest EMTB motors available (including Bosch SX, Bosch CX, TQ, Fazua & Shimano).
Its a great opportunity to ride and feel the difference between lightweight EMTBs and full-powered EMTBs. Additionally, in combination with our wide range of showroom bikes, you'll bee able to compare sizes and help you find the perfect-fit electric mountain bike for you.
With demo EMTBs from Mondraker, Orbea, Santa Cruz, Trek, Transition & Whyte already part of our fleet and plans for additions from Gasgas, Cube, Marin, Cannondale, & Husqvarna, we hope to have something for everyone.
Alongside our own fleet, we also have access to our brands' in-house demo fleets, meaning we can order in the demo electric mountain bikes for our customers to collect and test from our Lancashire-based showroom in the North-West of England.
These test rides need to be arranged in advance and require an upfront payment to secure them. For further details or to arrange a brand bike demo, please contact us.
Test Ride Options:
Free Car Park Demo: if you want to have a quick spin around our car park on one or more of our bikes then this is the package for you. A member of our team will be there to prepare the bikes and highlight the differences between the models, and advise which bikes would be most suitable for your requirements. This is a totally free service, and we advise approximately 30 minutes. Please contact us in advance so we can book you in.
One-Day Demo: £60 per bike - Take a bike out for a full day. Collection and return are on the same day, and you will need to contact us in advance to arrange this.
48-Hour Demo: £120 per bike - Get a real feel for the bike on your favourite trails.
You can collect a bike and keep it for a 48-hour test ride (mid week and weekend demos available) please contact us in advance to arrange this.
Special Order Demo: £120 per bike - If we don’t have your bike of choice but our brand does, we can order this bike in for you to demo for 48 hours. We normally require a few weeks’ notice to try and arrange this so please contact us to start the process.

FAQ's
We require all demo rides taken beyond our carpark demo to pay a 50% of the RRP value of the bike they are riding as a deposit. This can be taken via cash, card or bank transfer on the day of collection and is refunded on return of the bike.
In order to demo any of our EMTB’s for 1 day or longer, you will need to provide your passport or driving licence. This will be held in our company safe for the duration of your test ride alongside your signed demo bike form.
Your deposit refund will be processed at the point of return of the electric mountain bike. Please be aware it may take up to 5 working days for the transaction to clear back into your bank account.
If you are taking the bike on a 1 day or longer demo then you are welcome to ride it as you would your own bike. We expect the bikes to be used for what they are intended, off road mountain biking.
It is the rider's responsibility to provide and wear the correct protective gear for their demo ride. For carpark demo rides helmets will be available for you to use.
Pedals can be supplied FOC for all demos. If you have your own and would prefer these to be fitted this is no problem, please bring them along and our mechanics will fit them for you.
We kindly ask that you return our EMTB clean. Our team will carry out safety checks and give the bikes a thorough clean once a demo is finished but we appreciate it if you can make sure it has been rinsed down before return, you are welcome to use our hose at the front of the shop to do this.
We appreciate that traffic can be an issue for return or unexpected events can occur. A delay of return can be a maximum of 24 hours with good reason, anything beyond this will be charged at £60 per day unless otherwise arranged with our team.
As part of your handover you will be provided with the charger and instruction on how to use this so charging is not a problem.
Yes, all riders must be age 18 years or over.
Don’t worry. Riding an electric mountain bike is not dissimilar to a normal bike. Our team are here to help and a few laps of the carpark is normally enough to start to get the feel for it. We would always advise not to demo a bike if you have never ridden a bike before as electric mountain bikes are powerful and it is always best to have ridden a mechanical bike confidently first.
