Electric Mountain Bike (EMTB) Controller Guide
An e-bike controller is your point of contact to control your electric bikes' entire functions… such as your motors current assistance mode, your display settings and extra features such as walk assist and boost mode (model dependant). This guide breaks down the controllers fitted across the bikes retail, so you can assess which system best suits your needs.

Bosch

Bosch controllers are intuitive and easy to use. Each controller has both the ‘+’ and ‘-’ buttons to cycle through assistance modes, a long press on the ‘-’ button activates walk assist mode while a long press on the ‘+’ button activates any lights fitted and linked to the system. Whilst the arrows cycle through different statistics on your display. Except for the mini remote (on the left) which is cycled through via the square button.

Shimano

Shimano controllers are wired into either a junction box or a display to work correctly. Depending on the model, for example the EM800 (on the left) can only cycle through assistance modes requiring a junction box or a display to function. However a EN6N-600 (on the right) can function as a standalone controller, with buttons for power, assistance modes, lights and options to cycle through the display metrics.

Fazua

The Fazua Ride 60 ring controller (on the left), has no moving parts, the moving ring is held in place via magnets this is to help clean the controller when dirty. The controller features an on off on/off switch, changes mode and activates boost mode. The ring controller needs to be paired with the Fazua LED display in order to operate correctly.

The Ride 60 Control hub (on the right), eliminates the need for the separate top tube display as it combines the two items into one. Displaying the current state of charge and powering the system on.

TQ HPR50

TQ’s remote gives you full control over the HPR50 system without the need to take your hands off the handlebars. It provides an intuitive way to switch between the three support modes and the information shown on the display. And features walk assist mode.

DJI Avinox

The DJI Avinox system incorporates two bluetooth controllers with customisable buttons. The left controller buttons control, assistance modes, and both the boost mode by holding the up button and walk mode by holding the down button. Whilst  the right controllers cycle through the different system data, such as mph and distance travelled. These controllers also enable quick assist mode switches and access to more operations and faster commands.
